FAQs

How much Yoga is there and do I have to do it?

It's up to you. On offer we have 2 x 60-90 minute classes each day. There will also be a sunrise meditation.

Additional yoga 1:1 or group workshops are available for an extra charge. If you are an advanced practitioner or just starting out on your yoga journey, your practice will change significantly on this retreat. At the end of the week you will feel amazing. If yoga isn’t your jam and you're along for the ride, that’s cool too, there is lots of other stuff to do.

What if I've never been on retreat before?
It's such a gift to yourself to take on this special experience. Don't you worry about a thing. Our retreat is a small group of people. All the yoga classes are completely modifiable. We will take good care of you and your body.

This is about giving yourself the opportunity this year to get out of your crazy rat race, and take some time to unwind deeper then you ever have before. The question is, are you willing to invest in yourself?

Can I go solo?

Yes! We have lots of solo yogis join us for this retreat! You’ll meet lots of like-minded people and make lifelong friends. There is plenty of space to breakaway, but also lots of opportunity to join into a group activity, it’s up to you. This experience is powerful and if you’re looking for a week of rejuvenation, connection, laughter, and yoga this retreat might just be the perfect adventure!

Will meal times be shared?
Meal times will be shared. However if you wish, you can take your meal back to your room for some quiet time as well.

Dietary requirements
Yes, we can cater to all dietary requirements. Aga Reef resident Samoan Chef will prepare locally sourced Vegan & Vegetarian food. Freshly caught seafood will be on offer to purchase.

What travel documents do I need?

Get your passport ready!! Maybe go and check it now.

A visa is not required for Samoa. You will be issued with a 60-visitor permit on arrival. If you plan on driving in Samoa, you will need your drivers license and will have to purchase a temporary license.

How do I get to Aga Reef Resort?

On the day of the retreat, we will come and pick you up. Either from the airport or from your accommodation. As there aren’t as many flights to Samoa as there are for other countries, you might find that the available flights land in the middle of the night. It might be worthwhile to get to Samoa a day early and stay in a resort near the airport as we won’t be able to pick you up until 11am on the day of the retreat. If you would like suggestions of where to stay, we have plenty to suggest. If you would like help with flights, we can put you in touch with our Flight Centre Samoa flight expert.

What if I get to Samoa early?
Please note all guests are responsible for getting themselves to Samoa. As flights aren't as frequent as other countries, you may need to factor in accommodation either on entry or leaving Samoa.

Check in for the retreat is 2pm Sat 3rd August 2024. We will pick guests up from other resorts or the airport from 11am on the 3rd August.

Can you help with flights?

Super cool. You will receive a comprehensive Samoa Eco Yoga Retreat information pack in January to help you plan your retreat. If you need advice on flights, we can put you in touch with our Flight Centre legend  who is an expert on Samoa. And feel free to reach out if there are any concerns or questions. You can contact Justine 0448 218 135 or hello@yachtclubyoga.com.

Do I have to go on the tours and what other options are there?

Every offering at the Samoa Eco Yoga Retreat is optional. Dive in or dip out as much as you wish. This is your time for you.

At the Aga Reef Resort there are kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkelling equipment on offer. There is a protected reef at the resort which they are restoring. Though the coral has been damaged, there is still a lot to see, the fish are plentiful, and you may see a turtle or two swim by. There are also bikes on offer.

Outside the resort we have the included tours. These include:

  • Eastern Samoa Waterfalls & Village Pool Tour.

  • Private Island & To Sua Trench.

  • Mind-blowing Secret Beach tour.

If you are super keen to explore more, we also have tours available for extra charge

  • Surf Tour – the guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to some of Polynesia best surf spots. As you will be going outside the reef, you will have to be an experienced surfer.

  • Apia Market, Robert Louis Stevenson Museum.

  • Giant Clams

  • Experienced snorkel tour outside the reef.

  • Spa Day and fancy lunch with spectacular views.

What if I'm not a strong swimmer?

There are lots of options if you’re not wanting to snorkel. In Samoa, just walking out into the water is an experience in itself. The water is warm, and crystal clear.
